What is driving the Opioid Epidemic?
As I am sure you are aware, the United States is currently faced with a deadly and costly Public Health crisis the opioid overdose epidemic. Opiate overdose deaths now are the leading cause of adult deaths under the age of 54, and the mortality statistics continue to climb. In addition to the tragic impacts on families and loved ones, there is a growing concern that our communities may not be able to continue to sustain the cost of responding to, and treating the ever-increasing numbers of overdose victims in our cities and towns across the nation.

What is driving the Opioid Epidemic in the United States?
In your post, consider what caused it (point out specific factors), why you think it has grown so drastically, and why there does not seem to be any end in sight for this deadly and costly rampage across our country. What do you think needs to be done to try to curb this crisis?
