RE: Assignment 1B – Proposed Research Topic and Context.

Building on the work in assignment 1A, further identify and propose a topic for further research. Along with the background or reasons why it is an important area to research, explain the significance of it (including those who would benefit from your research), and the ways it would add to the body of existing knowledge. Your response should be 2-4 pages long. Submit via NYU Classes. Follow APA 6 for all formatting. Attempt to write in the third person (try to avoid the use of I, me, my, mine, or we).

In this section, you are making the argument why this topic is essential to be studied.

Then speak of the context of the topic. Write about the composition and drivers of the industry, the industry or organizational business model. Perhaps operational processes that need improvement or revenue models impacted.

Also identify the Key Performance Indicator in this situation and the gap you see in reaching the goals of the company, participants, the public, or any affected party.

Who would benefit from answers to questions on this topic?

You may use (and reference) the three memos on grand challenges in management, engineering, and business as a basis for your justification for the need to have the research question investigated and answered.

Then focus your proposed research work by posing a research question that you think that by getting answers to it you will solve the problem, help people perform better on their KPI’s and reduce the perceived gap.
