The Death Penalty
The use of the death penalty in Texas is problematic. One the one hand the state has a legitimate concern in removing some people from society and to provide justice to victims. On the other, many innocent people are executed with little evidence.
Watch the following film and respond to the questions below. You can hand write this and turn it in during class. I will also have a drop box on E-Courses.

Briefly summarize the state’s evidence/argument against the accused. You can use bullet points.
Discuss two problems that you see with the state’s case. Remember, you have to have motive, means, and opportunity. Did they have hard evidence?
How did your thinking change as the film progressed? Did your opinion of the guilt of the accused or the process that determined their guilt change?
Do some research, how much does it cost to execute someone in Texas? How much does it cost to house them for the rest of their life? Is the death penalty worth it? (Partially opinion based)
