Assignment Overview
Submit a word paper in which you analyze a problem related to diversity within the field of public service leadership. This is the first component of the course project. In later project components, you will explore solutions, decision-making processes, and communication approaches.

PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION AND BACKGROUND
Instructions
In this first component of your course project, from the list below, select a problem related to diversity, ethics, and cultural competency that public service organizations might face. Then, describe the problem and provide information from organizational, team, and individual perspectives. Identify the concepts of collaborative and communication techniques that affect the development of relationships, partnerships, and alliances within an organization.
Select one of the following problems that face public service organizations:

Prejudice and discrimination.
Differences in social identity.
Stereotyping demographics.
Accommodation of  religious and cultural differences.
Gender equality.
Language and communication.
Generation gaps and age discrimination.
Once you’ve chosen a topic, develop an analysis of the problem based on current and relevant scholarly sources. In your analysis, investigate the circumstances surrounding the problem and its implications for public service organizations. Apply critical-thinking skills to provide a comprehensive discussion and analysis of the selected problem. Consider assumptions about the problem, evidence of its existence, and its effect on relationships, partnerships, and alliances within an organization. Clearly delineate the problem as it relates to the different groups that it affects. Discuss the problem within the context of scholarly literature and research as it relates to public service organizations.
In your assignment, address the following critical elements that align with the grading criteria:

Identify and discuss the impacts of diversity, ethics, and cultural competency on the decision-making process related to the selected problem.
Evaluate the concepts of collaborative and communication techniques that have affected the development of relationships, partnerships, and alliances.
Examine scholarly support from the literature regarding the impacts of diversity, ethics, and cultural competency on the decision-making process related to the selected problem.
Evaluate the aspects of effective communication styles as applied to individual and group collaboration.
Analyze current (published within the past 3 -5 years), relevant, peer-reviewed academic research articles that examine the identified elements.

In an appendix section after the reference  page, an  explanation of how you implemented feedback on your writing.
Write your assignment in the third person academic, using a formal, scholarly, and objective tone. Avoid the use of first- and second-person pronouns, contractions, and casual or conversational tone.
