Gorbachev slacked the government control of many business which granted small business owners such as farmers and manufacturers the factor to decide for themselves how much of a product that they can make and the cost the can demand for that product. Which went against stern price controls that had been the foundation of the Soviet economic policies due to the communist party. He also loosened the restrictions on foreign trade. Gorbachev gave rights and freedom to the people of the Soviet Union . The people of the Soviet Union were included in the political process through freedom of expression which allow the media to inform the Soviet Union people and not censored the government involvement in the media. Which scared some because they had never been this open with the people before but it made them want freedom that the people at this time crave for. This is what tore the communist party apart.
