Title:

Individual Video Presentation including Slides

Assessment

Type:

Video

Presentation

Length:

5-7 Minutes (+/-10%)

Weighting: 30 %

Total Marks: 30

Submission: Via Moodle (Vimeo)

Due Date: Tuesday, Week 10 at 11.55pm

Your Task

Create an individual video presentation that explores the topic of “diversity” within a

contemporary business environment.

Assessment Description

In recent weeks, you have been exposed to a range of content exploring cultural diversity.

For this video presentation, you are required to conduct secondary research on a local

Australian-based or international firm to highlight how it embraces just one form of diversity. You

cannot choose a firm from the Banking, Airline, Supermarket or Telecommunication Sectors.

You should discuss your topic with your Facilitator before commencing your research.

You can focus on cultural diversity or any other form (gender, sexual orientation, age, disability,

etc.). The focus of your video presentation should be to highlight and critique your chosen firm

by presenting issues related to how it manages that specified diversity.

Assessment Instructions

To ensure the success of your video presentation, you should include the following:

1. A personal introduction: who are you?

2. An overview of the firm: what does it do and why did you select it?

3. Its diversity-related initiatives: what are they?

4. Sources: where have you obtained this information?

5. A critique of the diversity initiatives: have they been successful?

6. Recommendations: what else could the firm do in relation to diversity?

7. Additional sources: on what basis are you making those recommendations?

You are required to create a series of PowerPoint slides (10-12) with talking points to assist your

presentation and display your research/references.

Remember that you must appear on the screen, ensure that you can be clearly, and that

background noise is kept to a minimum and practice several times beforehand. Be creative, a

good presentation is not just about the content but the way that you present it
