This is a short literature review of a client service issue or need that was identified in Paper #1. You are asked to utilize at least 4 peer-reviewed journal articles that describe some sort of problem or issue that is relevant to your client population. In your paper, be sure to (1) define the problem, (2) statistics of the prevalence of the problem, (3) results due to this problem, (4) implications for social work (why social workers should care), and (5) finish with a short summary of the what you have written.
If you find an article that references another study of how the statistics were determined, you are to then utilize and reference that article as well. Do not cite studies by using “as cited by…”. Use and reference the original work.
A literature review is a report of the current knowledge-based on science; it is not a paper about your opinion. Look at the background sections on some of your articles to get an idea of how this is written. Be sure to use APA style, cite your sources, and attach a References page. It is to be at least two pages long. Be sure to put in your own words what you have read. It needs to sound like I am talking to you as a professional social worker, not as a Ph.D. level academic.
