In consultation with me, students will be select a topic for their Term Papers,My topic is (diabetes in Saudi Arabia). TPs are to be a minimum of 10 pages in length with a minimum of six current references from professional journal articles from 2009-2019 only. Sources acceptable for the TP include only the following: recent professional journal articles, global, national and/or community governmental sources and professional associations’ sources. Popular sources such as Wikipedia, WebMD, University newsletters, magazines, newspapers, etc. are not acceptable.
TPs should be written in a format similar to the way in which Units 4-10 will be presented. That is, begin the TP with a brief Introduction, including the following: a brief description of the health issue, statistics/trends (i.e., who is affected), how people are affected, risk factors and, if relevant, definitions, and how to prevent it
Next, the majority of the TP should focus on the DPHP aspects of the health issue – NOT medical aspects. Include the following: Current research; at least two interventions/programs/campaigns at two different levels (see the ecological model) to address/control/prevent the health issue; policies/laws/regulations, advocacy and ethical concerns related to the health issue.
