Data visualization methods offer a different landscape for explaining situations using data. Graphical representations of information, if created properly, can make vital information more intuitive, contextualized, and accessible. Visualization plays an essential part in analyzing big data and simplifying complex data-intensive scenarios. In this discussion, using the Viz of the Day webpage, select a business-focused visualization to debate in your post (you may have to toggle to more than one page to see business-specific visualizations). Consider the audience and purpose of the visualization you selected, and think about the strategy used to present the information and analysis visually. In your initial post, make sure to include the link to the visualization you selected, and address the following:Why have you selected this one?How does the author of the visualization address the audience? How is the purpose of the visualization conveyed? How does the visualization use color, ordering, layout, and hierarchy to prioritize information? In response to at least two of your peers, address the following:Can you describe ways in which data visualizations make information more accessible to their audience? What would you recommend to make key insights in visualizations more digestible to your audience? What would you avoid? Please provide response to each peer with their namePeer 1 Julie Seaboltchose “Analyzing Consumer Preferences in the U.S. Coffee Market” because it displays data and information in a way that makes it easier to notice trends and patterns. Mostly everyone I know, along with myself, are coffee drinkers so this data visualization piqued my interest. The author of this visualization does not directly address the audience, of which I assume to be coffee suppliers since the visualization mainly includes customer preference data in an effort to help businesses identify how to effectively appeal to their target audience. The data is displayed through bar charts, with a description to the side which enhances viewer’s understanding of the data. The author used different colors of brown in the visualization to go along with the coffee theme. The first page is not packed with data, but it lays out the general consumers of coffee such as gender, age, employment status, education level, ethnicity, political views, and work arrangements, while the next few pages focus on coffee consumer’s preferences and outlines business strategies to increase sales. The first page did it’s job at enticing the viewer to read further into the data, and I think this is because the page isn’t packed with information, but instead clearly organizes the data, and places a simple picture in the middle telling viewers exactly what the visualization is about. I love Halloween because of the haunted houses and trails, they are always fun. I am aware of the local haunted places but now I can search for others that I may consider attending. The author has a big bold title to draw in the audience and gives a brief description of his purpose. He ends the description with a question for the audience, have you ever explored haunted spots, or is there one that intrigues you?.The author has included an interactive map of all the haunted places in the United States. You can hover over the map to read short spooky stories for each location. There are also color codes for the states with the most and the states with the least haunted places. Below the map are two list, one side is purple showing states with the most places in descending order. The other side is in orange showing states with the least places, also in descending order.https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/ghafar.shah2168/viz/AmericasHauntedPlaces/AmericasHauntedPlaces
