For this week’s assignment write a paper comparing the main biological and behavioral characteristics of
(1) one of the early Australopithecine hominins ca. 3-6 mya (million years ago) discussed in this week’s readings and lectures and
(2) one of the early Homo erectus fossils, ca. 1.0 to 0.5 mya. What are some of their characteristics and how might these features influence how they may have acted or behaved? Importantly for your answer, what are the implications of their physical characteristics for the archaeological record? You must cite information that you use in your response with inline citations as well as a final bibliography (bibliography does not count towards length requirement).
The essay part of your assignment should be approximately 2 full pages in length, single-spaced, 12 pt font, 1-inch margin.
