ARGUMENTATION ESSAY
     In a cohesive, well-reasoned, well written essay (free of grammatical errors) of at least 5 double spaced paragraphs and approximately 500 words, about Should the death penalty be legal?  Why or why not? Argue your point. must have a well-formed thesis that clearly states your stand on the issue. 
This essay needs to have:
 1.Ethos “ Use a trustworthy argument  that can be supported with credible quotes from experts in the field. 
2.Pathos “ Appeal to your audiences emotion—provide a narrative or personal story to support your argument. 
3.Logos “ Use logical appeal to provide evidence for your argument “ support your writing with data, facts and/or statistics.                      

 Introduction: Attention Grabber / hook, Background Information, Thesis Statement Body: Three body paragraphs (three major arguments) Counterargument: An argument to refute earlier arguments and give weight to the actual position Conclusion: Rephrasing the thesis statement, major points, call to attention, or concluding remarks.

It’s a 5 paragraph essay, introduction, 3 body paragraphs, and conclusion .
