Anthropology is the study of humans, past and present. The field includes archeology as well as cultural anthropology and offers many useful methods and perspectives for understanding people. In this Project, you will learn about some of the ways anthropologists study people by conducting two different kinds of fieldwork.
Directions
For this Project, you will complete an anthropological field log documenting and explaining two field studies. The field log consists of the notes you take as you are conducting your fieldwork and your explanations of your experiences. Start your field studies only after you are familiar with the anthropological methods described in the Resources and have read all the instructions listed in the Field Log in the Project Resources. Make sure that your explanations are clearly written using full sentences and include photos that show both the “archaeological dig” and the cultural activity.
