For this assignment, you need to explore how Democrats and Republicans use social media.
Please carefully read the Instructions and Grading Rubric before you begin.
This assignment is due the following Monday at noon.
Step One
Pick a prominent Republican and Democratic politician or the national or local parties. Just make sure the two sides are comparable. If you decide to look at the social media usage of the local Democrat, you need to look at the social media usage of the local Republican to effectively compare the two. Scroll through
their social media postings for the last six months to a year.
Step Two
Write a 500 to 1,000-word analysis that includes the following:
Introductory paragraph
• Examples of Republican’s social media use and intended audience
• Examples of Democrat’s social media use and intended audience
•
Conclusion: Who was more effective based on the theories outlined in Chapter 3 in Social Media in the Digital Age and why? Are the two groups using the right platforms to attract the right audience as outlined in Chap. 5? Cite specific examples.
