ASSIGNMENT
Week One Assignment
Completion requirements
Please make sure to utilize evidence from your reading in your answers below.
For most graduate assignments, think about at least five pages or more to adequately answer the assignment. In addition, please provide supporting evidence for what you say. Please remember to have a properly formatted APA title pagewe are now using the newest edition and you can use the Student Paper formatting. You do not have to have an abstract page, but you do have to have properly formatted in-text citations and a Reference page with formatted references.
All assignments unless otherwise noted must be in essay format, double-spaced, and in Times New Roman Font. Please do not use contractions in formal writing assignments. Please answer every one of the questions. Please allow enough time to submit assignment. The assignment automatically cuts off at time and you will not be able to upload after that. Please allow at least 20 minutes for upload.
A. What does it mean to you to be a citizen? Explain. What does it mean to you to
be a global citizen? Explain. What is the difference? Have you ever given
thought to the differences?
B. There is a façade about what is going on in the world does not affect me but in
reality, we all are interconnected in many ways that we do not even realize.
Think of some ways that the world is interconnected and find some examples
on your own. Use the dimensions of globalization and how those could impact
your clients or future clients. (Try to steer away from examples I used in the
narrative with the PowerPoint.)

The Essay Title in Bold, Centered, with Key Words Capitalized
The introduction to the essay starts here. The first sentence of the introduction describes
the aim or purpose of the essay. Next, the introduction identifies the key concepts relevant to the
essay. In summary, the content of the introduction familiarizes the reader to the basic ideas
discussed in the body of the paper.
One to two paragraphs are adequate for an introduction. Each paragraph is indented one
tab space with the remaining sentences justified to the left margin. The margins are 1-inch on all
sides. The line spacing is double spaced. The font is 12-point Times News Roman. For additional
information see the publication manual from the American Psychological Association (APA,
2020). This template is written using the accepted APA (7th ed.) paper formatting.
Level 1 Heading (Bold, Centered)
The Level 1 heading is written with bold font and centered in the middle of the paper. The
heading should be the key concept from the first set of question prompts in the instructions as
noted in Moodle. The key concept in the heading is typically two to four words.
This narrative begins by restating the key concept in the heading then describes the concept
using information for the required readings. The subsequent discussion answers the questions in
the instructions. The response should use content from the text (Sernau, 2012), required readings,
and additional research such as articles from current events news sources and professional journals.
Information from used from other authors or sources must have in-text citations and be included
on the reference list. Best practices suggest overciting is better than under-citing.
Each paragraph should have one main topic (or key concept). The first sentence of the
paragraph introduces the main topic. The next two to three sentences offer supporting examples or
present an opposing argument. The final sentence summarizes the paragraph while restating the
3
key concept. Following this approach to writing, encourages the use of brief, concise paragraphs
and avoids lengthy paragraph with multiple, meandering themes.
Level Heading (Bold, Centered)
The second set of question prompts should have a new heading. The heading should be the
key concept from the second set of question prompts in the instructions as noted in Moodle. The
other writing guidelines as indicated above also apply to this second discussion.
Level Heading (Bold, Centered)
Occasionally, the essay will have more than two sets of question prompts. If so, a new
heading should be used for each set of questions. The other writing guidelines as indicated above
also apply to this third discussion.
Conclusions
The essay should end with one paragraph summarizing the key concepts and inviting the
reader to consider how the content may be applicable to their social work practice.
