Where Do I Work? Communication Analysis Paper
(Or you can use a past employer or organization, if no employer, pick a company you
can research thoroughly that you can answer the following criteria.)
This is an analysis and critique of an organization for which you currently or previously
have worked. The intent is to assess communication within the organization from
various perspectives and use course concepts and theories as a frame.
Your paper should be:
o 3-4 pages, Word document, double spaced, including a cover page
Your paper should include:
1. A brief overview of the organization and your role within it.
2. A discussion of the common communication practices (and mediums), both formal
and informal.
o Include communication practices of the leadership team
o Organization-wide practices
o Within units or teams
o Between units or teams
o With external stakeholders
3. An assessment of the effectiveness of the communication practices.
4. Impact analysis of the various practices
5. An overall critique of the practices
6. Recommendations to leverage areas of strength and to address areas that needed
enhancing
