Information
The personal project application will span seven steps, following chapter 12 section 3. The first five steps are milestones that will build toward a final report that is due the last week of class. This project will be also shared in the discussions beginning week 4 allowing feedback from peers to be a part of the overall final paper.
Rationale
To facilitate hands-on practice in applying the concepts of business analytics and to report in a variety of communiqué to be shared with key stakeholders.  
Instructions

Read Chapter 12 and focus on the third section that will be a personal case report. We will create an extensive report with detailed application each week, this will then culminate in week 8 for a final detailed project.  We will be reporting this not only in detail and submitting in the personal project section, but also in power points and memos in the discussions each week beginning next week
Submit a document with the following for this week:

Work on Step 1 and 2 under Project 3: completing our own project using the SOAR analytics model

Identify a business need you will work with to use in your personal case report. 
Provide a background and overview including key facts about the business
Explain your role and motivation, include the big-picture problem and why addressing this problem is important.
You may want to look ahead to see what data you can find or you can use practice data in Kaggle, but try to find something close to what would align well with your project.
