CHOSEN TOPIC IS LGBTQ2S+
Purpose: This assignment is designed to give students the opportunity to explore topics around organizational culture, Equity Diversity and Inclusion, along with Reconciliation to understand what is required to shift organizational culture. It also aims to build your skill in summarizing academic research and disseminating it in an industry environment, utilizing industry tools.
Value: 30% of your final grade
Assignment: For this assignment students will pretend a senior leader in their organization wants to know more about a specific topic related to organizational culture and has asked the group to research the topic and report back to senior leadership with their findings.

? Groups will select a specific aspect of organizational culture that is of interest for them. Topics will include, but are not limited to, anti-racism and anti-oppression, building psychological safety, advancing DEI in the workplace, health and wellness, inclusion for neuro-diverse employees, family-friendly supports, mental health, harassment-free, inclusive (e.g., gender, LGBTQ2S+, newcomer) cultures, practicing Reconciliation in the workplace, and inclusive leadership behaviors.
? The project then has a multiple deliverables:
o The group will thoroughly research the topic using peer-reviewed literature, population statistics, historical concerns, industry sources, and other quality sources.
o Begin your research. Find sources to help you answer your research question. You need to have a minimum of 5 sources, with at least 3 of these peer-reviewed, as part of the outline.
o Paper:
? Defines the topic

? Provides appropriate context for the topic (both historical and current)
? What does the academic literature say on this topic? Summarize and synthesize recent
research in this area. Recent research is within the last 12 months.
? Citation in APA of sources is required in the presentation and executive summary. A minimum
of 12 outside sources, of which a minimum of 6 should be peer review journals.
? Please have fun and BE CREATIVE with the paper and summary. You are welcome to use
interesting formats for delivery. Try a newsletter-style presentation or e-letter on your executive
summary.
