The Principal as Instructional Leader
Case Assignment
Use the readings in Module 2 and any other relevant sources to write a 3- to 5-page paper that answers the following question:
· What is your role as an instructional leader? Use the readings to shape your vision for instructional leadership at your educational institution and to discern what your role is within this vision.
· Be sure to include a discussion of what your role is and what you think it should be, using the background readings as evidence to support your claims. Please also provide a brief discussion of your formal role/job title to provide context to your paper.

Your paper will be assessed on the following criteria:
Assignment-driven criteria – Demonstrates mastery covering all key elements of the assignment in a substantive way.
Scholarly writing – Demonstrates mastery and proficiency in scholarly written communication to an appropriately specialized audience.
Quality of references and organization – Demonstrates mastery using relevant and quality sources and uses appropriate, relevant, and compelling content to support ideas, and convey understanding of the topic and shape the work.
Citing sources – Demonstrates mastery using in-text citations or sources and properly uses APA format including a full reference list.
Critical thinking/Application to Professional Practice – Demonstrates mastery conceptualizing the problem, and viewpoints and assumptions of experts are analyzed, synthesized, and evaluated thoroughly. Conclusions are logically presented and applied to professional practice in an exceptional manner.

Now that you have defined what your role as an instructional leader should look like (Case 2), please draft a 3- to 5-page action plan that identifies 5 specific challenges or obstacles that you face in your role as an instructional leader and practical steps to overcome them. Use suggestions from the background readings and any other relevant sources.
