Contrasting needs of the seller and the marketer discussion

Contrasting needs of the seller and the marketer discussion

Instructions
For this activity, prepare a reflection paper, and consider the concepts that you have learned during your readings. Think about what you understand completely and what did not quite make sense. The purpose of this assignment is to provide you with the opportunity to reflect on the material you have read and to expand on it. This is not a summary.
In the Unit I introduction to this course, Theodore Levitts remarks about the contrasting needs of the seller and the marketer were shared. Levitt described how satisfying the needs of the customer is now the pathway to marketing success. This concept and others related to the four Ps of product, price, promotion, and place were further explored throughout the units. For this reflection paper, respond to these three prompts:

Reflect on how this introductory marketing course has changed your view of how the field of marketing works.
What was the most surprising thing you learned? What do you need to learn more about?
Do you see the rise of consumer power through evolving changes in technology? If so, how? If not, why not?

Your reflection paper must be at least four pages in length and formatted according to APA guidelines. If you use any paraphrased or quoted material, you must have accompanying in-text citations and references. Title and reference pages do not count toward the minimum length requirement.

PART 2

In 1-2 pages, tell the story of a time you learned something new, were influenced by a mentor, or overcame a learning challenge.  Consider the following principles of narrative writing that you read about in this unit:

Narration tells a story.  Choose a specific event or sequence of events and lay them out in chronological (time) order.  Your reader should get the feeling they are moving through the event as you experienced it.
Personal narration is descriptive.  Consider the five senses in setting the scene and describing your experience.  How did things look, feel, smell, sound, and taste?  Use specific details such as using names when talking about other people and describing the place where events occurred.  Consider using dialogue to show when others are speaking in your story so the reader can hear what you heard in the situation.
Personal narrative that is meant for others to read should include some reflection.  In a conclusion paragraph, explain the significance of your experience.  What did you learn?  How have you changed? What can others take from reading about your experience?  How can you apply principles learned from this experience to this class or other college work?

Your narrative is being evaluated on the elements of personal narrative described above.  However, the main goal of writing is to successfully communicate with a reader, so read over your narrative once or twice before submitting it to make sure your ideas come across like you want them to.
